Why even therapy in these times?
trust me, your therapist is asking the same question (or should be! unless you want a Golden Retriever therapist, which is your call!)
what therapy can't do: make you feel better about climate change, famine, war :(
can/should! be a place to get validation (maybe therapy is the only place you get gendered correctly, or aren't told you're just being a downer about fascism)
AND not just for venting (there are other places to do that) - you deserve more than just venting
process old trauma so you're not frozen by the authoritarian men popping up everywhere. "the pain of this present moment is enough to bear."
learn to better care for yourself, so you can be more effective in the world
learn to get along better with others, even under great stress, so you don't wreck your mutual aid group
don't collude with the fascists who tell you to hate yourself
